Episode Description

The scientists and the Army battle for control of the bomb.

My Review

Gotta admire Frank’s resolve at always going for something that he believes and not letting anyone stand in his way to get it. His speech at the end was very good and definitely stoked the scientists’ consciences into following his lead. I agree with him that they need representation on that Target Committee because they should have a say on what the bomb should be used for. Unfortunately, I don’t think anyone but the military has a say in this.

What a sucker punch for everyone on The Hill to hear the news about FDR’s passing. It must have been an uncertain few moments for everyone in the US and around the world to have the US President die while there’s a world war raging on in Europe and Asia. I can’t even begin to imagine how people everywhere reacted to this news.

I wasn’t entirely too sure what Crosley is doing everyday on line 135. Does Darrow know what he’s up to and that’s why he wasn’t that surprised about Abby’s news? Also, so weird to have him ask Abby to get down on their knees and pray. I wish the show would leave religion out of this story because there are more interesting things happening that I would rather see on this show.

So Charlie is back in Helen’s good graces after admitting that the reason he didn’t invite her to Group G is because he let his feelings for her get in the way professionally. What a douche.

I wasn’t sure either what that thing was outside of The Hill that Frank and the other soldiers were supposed to be doing, but it was good to see Frank talking to Fisher’s “ghost” and for Fisher to advise him that the petition was a way for the military to sniff out the Communists. I think.
