TV Show: Fringe
Episode Title: Earthling
Original Air Date: November 5, 2009
Episode Number: 2×06
Human beings are reduced to ash statues and Broyles realizes that the same person responsible murdered five other persons four years ago… a case that he never solved.
Not the most compelling episode of this show, but it was still very good. I thought the visual effects of the victims dissolving into ashes was super cool and the whole alien thing that came back with the cosmonaut was also cool. Maybe the fact that we didn’t get much in the way of advancing the mythology made this as one of the show’s least memorable episodes for me.
I’m glad that we got a bit of Broyles backstory out of it, though. I’m also glad that Broyles was able to solve this case and that he was able to tell his wife so that he can get some kind of closure. I was shocked when Broyles shot the brother in the head even though I’ve seen this episode before, lol. Memory is a funny thing, ain’t it? The CIA sending back the cosmonaut and that shadow back to space was unexpected, but probably the most reasonable course of action.
It was pretty adorable when Peter and Astrid were watching Walter try to decipher the formula and how Peter almost looked like he was entertained by the Walter Show.
