“People, am I right?”

TV Show: Wynonna Earp
Episode Title: Shed Your Skin
Original Air Date: June 16, 2017
Episode Number: 2×02

Episode Description

While Waverly’s change accelerates and Doc makes a dangerous deal, Wynonna must fight spider creatures. Yep.

My Review

First off, lol @ the episode description. “Yep.”

Second, am I the only one who feels sorry for Waverly for feeling conflicted about Willa’s death? She has been reading Willa’s diary and she learns that Willa hated her so much when they were little and that has to sting. Granted, Willa was just a kid, but even then the hatred that she probably wrote on there about Waverly has to hurt. I want to hug her when Wynonna was all torn up about shooting Willa and you could see that Waverly wasn’t sure how to react and didn’t know what to say to comfort her sister because she probably doesn’t feel bad that Willa is dead and she probably also feels guilty about this because that was her sister who died. I just really love this storyline and I hope it comes to the forefront and that the two remaining Earp sisters have a good talk about it.

I hope they don’t drag out this whole monster that’s possessing Waverly storyline because seeing her eyes go dark every so often loses its impact. Yes, we get it. There’s a monster inside Waverly and she’s eating giant spider babies…what’s next?

Oh, Wayhaught. They are so shippable. Loved the kisses, loved that Nicole asked Waverly if she was sure, loved that Nicole is helping Waverly in her quest to prove that she’s an Earp, loved their little fight in the beginning. I just love them. Wynonna is a total shipper, lol.

Why is Dolls being sidelined? Is the actor unavailable?

Doc blackmailing Lucado into giving him the money to buy Shorty’s was genius and perfectly explained what exactly he does on the team. What is he and his lady friend cooking up in the basement, though? Is he trying to make the solution that keeps the lizard part of Dolls at bay? Surely he’s not going to start a meth lab in the basement.

Jeremy is okay and his man-crush on Doc is pretty funny. Loved it when Doc asked him if he can teach him how to use voice mail. Need more scenes of Doc trying to figure out technology.

Was not a fan of Wynonna leaning in to kiss Doc. Girl, slow your roll. It wasn’t even that long ago that she kissed Dolls and now she wants to kiss Doc. I hope the show leaves romance out of Wynonna’s storyline because I’m not too keen on either of her potential love interests (although I don’t mind Dolls).

What were those black ghost thingies and is one of them really Willa back to haunting Wynonna or were they the ones making all those spider eggs? Guess we’ll find out in the next episode?

TV Show: Orphan Black
Episode Title: Clutch of Greed
Original Air Date: June 17, 2017
Episode Number: 5×02

Episode Description

Captured by Neolution, Sarah receives a damning ultimatum from Rachel: come into the fold, or lose your family. Her decision causes a clash with Kira who begins exploring her own maturity. Meanwhile, Ferdinand struggles to get a handle on Rachel’s new velvet glove mandate in pursuit of the clones. With Neolutionists and Ferdinand watching their every move, Felix brings an old ally into the mix to help his family get Kira to safety. On the Island, Cosima struggles to comprehend the reality of the Neolution myth made real.

My Review

Damn, MK died and I’m pretty gutted about it. We didn’t really know her that well, but from the few times that she was onscreen, she was nothing but helpful towards her fellow sestras. Seeing Ferdinand kill her in such a brutal manner was disturbing and heartbreaking. If only Sarah wasn’t so protective and have this need to save everyone, MK would still be alive. I’m in no way blaming Sarah; it’s just the way the cookie crumbles sometimes. How will this affect Sarah, I wonder.

I don’t blame Kira for not wanting to run away AGAIN. Look, I don’t trust Rachel as far as I can throw her, but why don’t Sarah and company try to figure out what Rachel’s endgame really is before hatching a plan to hide and run away from her? It’s honestly getting a bit repetitive and I’m bored of the cat and mouse game. They’re better off working with Rachel for now and cooperating with her and once they have a plan, they can extract their revenge on Rachel, if they still need to once they learn her motives.

Helena stabbing that poor doctor with the big-ass needle was totally uncalled for and was gross as hell. The needle actually went through one cheek, through her tongue, and out the other cheek. Aaack. I’m not sure where Helena and Donnie are planning on going next, but if they keep on trying to avoid the Neos, maybe they’ll be the wild cards in this story if/when Sarah and company need help.

What’s up with Delphine conspiring with Siobhan and why can’t Sarah know? Is this another experiment? Is Delphine really working with Cosima and her sestras or is she working under PT’s commands? When she said that the others can’t know what she was going to tell Siobhan, my mind immediately jumped to the conclusion that this is some kind of experiment.

Well, color me surprised that PT is actually real and really is 170 years old. That is some freaky-ass shit. He looked damn good for his age, too. Everything that he was saying was definitely to keep Cosima interested once she comes up with a cure for her sestras and to have her continue to stay in Revival. Yeah, I don’t trust this guy either.

Other random observations:

– I hope that’s the end we’ll see of Ferdinand because his relationship with Rachel creeps me the fuck out.

– I really liked the contrast with all-black room that Sarah was kept in and with Rachel’s all-white office. Their black and white outfits also didn’t go unnoticed.

– Siobhan and Sarah sassing up a storm with Ferdinand and Rachel’s goons was very funny. Like mother, like daughter.

TV Show: Black Mirror
Episode Title: The National Anthem
Original Air Date: December 4, 2011
Episode Number: 1×01

Episode Description

A twisted parable for the Twitter age, The National Anthem looks at how life is very much harder for the rich and supposedly powerful now that information is disseminated so quickly and public opinion is so loud, powerful and quick to change. It’s a political thriller in which the Prime Minister faces a huge dilemma – and that’s all that can be revealed for now…

My Review

Jeez, way to kick off a show. I was thoroughly disgusted by this episode and the fact that humans actually wanted to watch that is unbelievable. But you know what, if this were to become true, would we do the same thing as the people in this episode and watch with disgust, but keep on watching anyway to satisfy our curiosity? Who’s to say, really? I can honestly say for myself that I wouldn’t watch any of it, but will just monitor social media to gauge the reactions from everyone.

The artist who planned this all out is fucked up. This is called art? Really? I swear, some artists are so fucking full of themselves. They would put a dot on a black wall and call it art, pretentious assholes. Can’t stand artists who are this way who think that they are God’s gift to mankind.

It was good to see the Prime Minister recovering well (it seems) a year after, but I’m not surprised his marriage has deteriorated. There is no coming back from that no matter how much they love each other. Kudos to the actor who played Michael because you could really sense the anguish and the humiliation on his face throughout this ordeal.

That female reporter has got to be the stupidest reporter in the history of television. She really thought she would have gotten the scoop without endangering her life? I thought she was a goner after they started firing at her back as she was running away. And of course she’s bribing someone inside the PM’s office so she can get the scoop. Thanks a lot for setting back womanhood an entire decade.

I really liked the PM’s chief of staff (the female assistant, I’m not sure what her official title is) and how matter-of-fact she was about all of this. We can always use someone who’s as levelheaded as she is in times of crisis. Hell, she even conspired to have the part about the Princess being released 30 minutes before the deadline just to save the PM further humiliation.
