Cole and Railly find themselves at opposite ends of an unspeakable decision. Jones grows suspicious while Railly turns to an emotional ally for advice. All hell breaks loose during a massive fire-fight.
I had a feeling Cole wouldn’t go through with killing his son when he’s face to face with him. That was a pretty momentous scene, wasn’t it? I wonder what was going on with the two of them looking at each other and looking like they were having a conversation with each other. Of course Cassie arrives in the nick of time to save them by shooting Deacon only for The Witness to be taken away by one of the Guardians (?).
And here we have the team splitting up. Jones/Deacon vs. Cole/Cassie. I firmly believe that Jennifer is on Team CC because she convinced Cole that there’s another way in dealing with The Witness and in the end, he listened to her. Gonna be quite interesting how the dynamics and relationships will change now that it’s out in the open that The Witness is Cole and Cassie’s son.
I liked the scene Jennifer had with The Witness and how they both acknowledged each other’s special-ness. The Witness telling Jennifer that she “will be the best of us all” made me raise my eyebrow. What was that about? We’ve always known Jennifer is special, but does this mean that she plays an even bigger role in all of this than anyone ever thought?
Cassie going back to 1990 to meet her mom and spend time with her was very sweet and heartbreaking at the same time. I loved how it ended with her having a nosebleed because her mom listened to her advice about taking young Cassie to museums and appreciating art. Such a nice moment.
Jones going back to Cole and Ramse’s last time together was shocking, but Deacon definitely planted that thought in her head about there something else going on between Cole and Cassie and them having a secret. Jones has every right to be furious and I’m so torn because part of me wants her to succeed in saving humanity, but at the same time, I’m kind of rooting for Cole and Cassie to succeed in saving Athan and not have him turn into who the 12 Monkeys wants him to be. There could still be hope since he seemed hesitant about gassing those people and is not just blindly following what the Army is telling him.
