My Review

Fun episode. I surprised that not a lot of people knew (back then at least) that Tiger Woods was half-Asian because that was pretty big news in our household. I do wonder why his Asian background was not a big deal back then. Emery’s willingness to let his school know about Tiger’s half-Asian background was very sweet, but I was disappointed for him when it was revealed that there was no one inside the school when he made his announcement because they were all watching one of Eddie’s friends fight the other kid who had the same backpack as him.

That “Kultida” was very sweet playing along and helping Jessica come out of her funk. Jessica really needs to chill sometimes and I wish the show wouldn’t have her be so mean and show her loving side, too, from time to time. Her trying to disregard what Louis contributes to parenting was quite belittling and made me cringe and feel sorry for Louis. Good thing Louis seems like a self-assured person. You just know that when the tables are turned, Jessica would be stomping her foot up and down and getting mad at Louis.

Ending this with my favorite lines of dialogue from the episode:

“You know I can’t pull off hats, my head is too small.”

“This isn’t a cartoon, Louis. We’re not mermaids and reggae crabs singing at the bottom of the sea.”

“Half-Asian? Are we talking about Keanu?”

“Emery is out. He’s good at everything.”

“These golf clothes are like my regular clothes, but with an athletic cut.”

“I nicknamed Evan ‘The Little Kitchen’ because he always sinks it.”
