While working the murder case of one of the last survivors of the USS Arizona, McGarrett learns about his grandfather’s important role at Pearl Harbor. Also, Adam uncovers bone fragments at his new construction job and asks Jerry to help him discreetly investigate.
They bring on Hal Holbrook only to have him killed in a car crash for the first few minutes of the episode? Well, at least he got a nice trip to Hawaii out of it or maybe he didn’t and his scenes in the car were shot wherever he lives, hmm. It was very cool to see how his past intersected with Steve’s grandfather, though. Thanks to Steve’s grandfather sacrificing his life, Hal’s character was saved along with several other people during Pearl Harbor. Nice way to end the episode with Steve in his white uniform and saluting Hal’s character (along with the other fallen soldiers).
I’m glad Adam lying to Kono didn’t devolve into something bad or that Kono ended up getting mad at him. There was really no harm in telling Kono about his suspicions right away. Yes, he wanted evidence, but why lie to your wife, a member of the Five-0 task force? I just don’t get him sometimes.
That shootout on the streets of Hawaii was a bit much and seemed a tad too long for my liking. The hand to hand combat between Steve and Campbell was pretty brutal and the way Steve took out Campbell was gnarly. Iron rod through his chest. Oof.
