Episode Title: Go For Broke
Original Air Date: September 13, 2016
Episode Number: 1×03
Earn goes on a date with Van even though he’s broke; Paper Boi proves he might have what it takes to hustle. Migos guest star.
Third episode in and still loving this show. Not as topical or as serious as the previous two episodes, but still very good. It’s nice to see Earn going on a date with Van and trying not to freak out as their orders were breaking the bank. Literally. Earn really should have looked up that restaurant beforehand just to make sure management didn’t change. He made it work, though, and Van was none the wiser. I honestly felt Earn’s pain when that waitress kept on peddling “shit” and jacked up the total every time she opened her mouth. And good on Van for including the tip on there. She was just doing her job, after all. Smart of Earn to report his debit card stolen afterward, lol.
Meanwhile Al and Darius go on a drug deal and feared for their lives. That guy shooting that other guy like he was hunting him was crazy. Both of them played it cool, though, and they survived and the deal was a success. I find both of them hilarious especially during their conversation about the word “daddy” while they were cleaning their guns.
It also cracked me up when Darius was ironing the money and then we see him later on pull a gun out of a cereal box and warning Al and Earn that there might be a bullet left inside the box. Earl’s “Noted” was the icing on the cake.
On a shallow note, Van is gorgeous.
