Episode Title: Sock Puppets
Original Air Date: March 19, 2017
Episode Number: 6×09
Carrie catches a break. Keane makes a plan. Max goes undercover.
Damn. DAAAAAAAAAAMN. Quinn to the motherfucking rescue! Well, he’s getting there. If Dar doesn’t get prosecuted legally, then Quinn might as well take matters into his own hands and deliver justice and take revenge for all the wrongs that Dar has done to him and to the people he cares about.
Quinn being a badass in this episode was so satisfying to watch. He is finally thinking clearly and has a plan and a mission and that’s when he functions best. Once he locates this guy, I hope he reunites with Carrie and Saul to trade stories and to hatch out a plan to take Dar down because there is no way Saul is going to go down with him if Carrie does what the solicitor general and Keane are asking of her.
The second scene with Dar and Keane was intensely good. Dar’s instincts told him that Keane was up to something because she was acting way too polite and keen (pun not intended!) than she usually does or what he’s used to. Keane was pretty obvious there with laying on the niceness factor way too thick. The last shot of them drinking their coffees was great: Keane knows that Dar knows that she knows and Dar knows that Keane knows that he knows that she knows. Hahahaha, this sounds like an episode of Friends.
I would say that Javadi getting screwed over was a shock, but since this is Homeland, it was bound to happen. He put his money on the wrong horse and that horse screwed him over and gave him up to Mossad. At least Javadi gave Saul and Carrie a present, which unfortunately they are unable to use. But at least Keane knows now and is wary of Dar and whoever else might be in his pocket.
Max! He’s an awesome spy and I can’t wait for him to tell Carrie what exactly that company’s agenda was. It just dawned on me that that guy was the same guy who was spewing all this hatred and animosity towards Keane (right?). Wow. So Dar (or is there someone else above him?) is this desperate to taint Keane’s name even before she takes office that they hired this group to have fake social media personas just so they can manipulate public opinion and steer that against Keane. Wow. I bet you this is probably happening in the real world right now and we are just not aware of it.
The Carrie/Saul scene at the park bench kinda broke my heart. Carrie feels sorry that she told Keane about what happened in Berlin, this incriminating Saul and Saul is worried that this will be the end of his career and no one will remember the good, just the bad. My jaw kinda dropped during this dialogue:
“Maybe you shouldn’t have been fucking a Russian mole.”
“Well, coming from someone who fucked a guy in a suicide vest, that means a lot.”
Keep up the great season, Homeland!
