My Review

What the fuck. Why is Dar suddenly the ultimate villain? He’s fucking up everyone’s lives on this show. Let me count the ways.

Carrie: Dar sics Child Services on Carrie and she loses Franny in the process. This was just devastating to watch and even though I don’t have a kid, Claire Danes displayed the grief and the panic on Carrie’s face perfectly that I felt the utter pain that Carrie was feeling when the judge made his ruling. Dar is a twisted bastard for making Carrie suffer this way and having her go through this agony.

Saul: Dar tells Iranian intelligence that Javadi is in NY and they, in turn, kidnap him and torture him to find out why he’s in NY and who his contact is in the CIA. Lucky for Javadi, Amir is a loyal soldier who’s loyal to his general and ends up saving him. It’s too bad Javadi can’t risk loose ends and shoots Amir dead. Damn. Dar setting Saul up to be interrogated by that woman was pretty good acting, with him feigning ignorance about the grilling, but I don’t think Saul fell for it. Now Saul knows that Dar (for sure this time) cannot be trusted and that he has his own agenda.

Quinn: Dar tells Quinn about what happened in Berlin and how Carrie risked Quinn’s life by asking the doctors to wake Quinn up from his deep coma was shocking. I have forgotten this so hearing Dar tell this to Quinn made me go “oh shit” because Dar is right in this regard. Carrie did risk Quinn’s life, but she was doing it to save hundreds of people. I’m sure Quinn would understand. Dar playing on Quinn’s feelings for Carrie is messed up and I hope that Quinn turns the tables on Dar and comes to the understanding that Carrie did what she had to do.

Keane: Dar didn’t have any dealings with her in this episode, but you could see the wheels turning in his head while he was watching that TV interview with Keane. All of the things Dar is doing, it’s to screw Keane over so it’s only a matter of time before his plans all come to a head and Keane will get the brunt of it.

It’s pretty scary how one man can have this much power to put all of these pieces in motion. He has his way going for now, but the tide will eventually turn and all four aforementioned characters will come to realize who the person is behind their ordeals and they will come together to take Dar down and it will be glorious.
