Fuck Toby, man. He’s sabotaging Kate again and it irks me to no end that the writers are treating Kate like this. She has two guys interested in her, but both leave a lot to be desired. Toby might come off as sweet by doing these grand gestures for Kate, but mind you, he’s not doing most of them out of the goodness of his heart. He’s doing them because he wants something. Case in point: him visiting her at the camp and bringing her a care package and then expecting her to come to a hotel with him so they can have sex. What the fuck? Not only is he sabotaging Kate’s progress, he’s totally being selfish here.
The other guy (Duke) is a sexual harassment lawsuit waiting to happen. Why is Kate putting up with his sexual advances? She needs to report his ass to the camp’s management and get it over with. If she doesn’t like being treated this way, she should have done this a long time ago. Makes me wonder why she hasn’t done anything yet. Maybe she likes the attention? If she does, gross. She deserves better than this. I don’t even want to talk about her going to his cabin. It better not be for a booty call. Ugh, her storyline is so frustrating.
I really like Kevin and Sophie even though Kevin is coming off a tad desperate. His actions and his words are all sweet so it’s no wonder that Sophie showed up again at the diner. She must still have feelings for him if that’s the case. Can’t believe Kevin would cheat on her. She seems like a prize (so far anyway). I hope these two crazy kids make it work – Sophie better break up with her current boyfriend before getting back with Kevin.
I was not a fan of Randall in the first half of this episode. He was being rude and unreasonable and it was a bit disconcerting. Good thing Beth is so understanding and didn’t get mad at him. (She really is the best.) She got where he was coming from in regards to feeling conflicted about bringing William into their lives and then for him to die at any moment. He was in deep denial that William will die and he was just trying to protect himself and the girls. Sweet, but unrealistic because this is one thing that is not under his control.
It’s too bad things aren’t working out well for him at work with Sanjay being brought on board and Randall’s boss giving half of his accounts to Sanjay. I hope Randall kicks Sanjay’s ass.
I’ll say it again. Beth is really the best. I loved that she put her foot down in regards to Randall being there for Tess’ chess tournament. Guess we know who rules their home. 🙂 It was so sweet when she showed the girls her memory box for her dad and later on when the girls made their own memory boxes for William. I love her so much.
Jack is giving Beth a run for her money when it comes to being the best. Rebecca is right. Jack is a freaking superhero. That was awfully thoughtful and sweet of him to rent their old apartment for one night and to have them enjoy a night to themselves. Miguel and Shelly’s breakup was a wake up call for him (not that he needed it) and Rebecca not to take each other for granted and to always be there for each other. It’s too bad Rebecca ruined the moment when she said she wants to go on tour with her band. If I were Jack, I would be pissed as hell. He’s working 12-hour days and for Rebecca to leave him with three kids to take care of while she’s out touring is one hell of an ask.
