Episode Number: 4×10
Coulson and Mack discover a shocking secret about Mace, which leaves all of S.H.I.E.L.D. in a dangerous position.
Talbot, you devious bastard. I kinda figured out midway through the episode that Mace wasn’t Inhuman and that whatever he needed from that briefcase was what gives him his “powers.” No harm, no foul, though. Yes, there were casualties on the SHIELD side, but at least the major players are all alive. So the question now is, who sent those men to assassinate Mace? Who else knows his secret? Does Nadeer? Or she just wants to kill Mace because she believes that he’s Inhuman?
Coulson telling Mace to stay on as the face of SHIELD and to handle the political and bureaucratic side of being the Director and him (Coulson) calling the shots during operations could be a very good thing. Mace is very good at his job so there’s really no harm in letting him stay on and let the people believe that he’s still the director of SHIELD.
I am not liking Fitz’s obsession with fixing Aida, but if it leads him to figure out Radcliffe’s plan, so be it. Also, I just don’t buy him and Simmons as lovers. It just skeeves me out because I have always considered them to have a brother/sister relationship.
Oh man, I can’t believe May almost escaped from Radcliffe and Aida’s clutches. I had to laugh when Aida said that she programmed a simulation of May in a day spa in order to calm her down. No wonder it didn’t work. Too bad Radcliffe figured it out in the end and now he’s going to run simulations of May trying to fight enemies while under sedation. Will LMD May figure out that she’s not real and will go and share this info with one of the agents?
Loved it when Quake showed up to save Coulson and Mace.
