Episode Title: The World’s Columbian Exposition
Episode Number: 1×11
Original Air Date: January 16, 2017
Lucy’s situation grows desperate after she’s taken captive by Flynn and brought to the 1893 Chicago World’s Fair. In their dogged pursuit of Lucy, Wyatt and Rufus fall into a sinister trap.
Great episode to start off the new year. I really loved Harry Houdini and how the actor portrayed him. He’s probably my favorite historical person yet that we’ve met so far, right up there with Ian Fleming and Kathleen Johnson. It was cool of Lucy to think of Houdini on the spot like that and have him help her escape from Flynn. I wanted to smack Flynn for yelling at her and for treating her like a rag doll. Guy is a Grade-A dick.
Loved how he got his comeuppance at the hands of Houdini after Lucy hinted and mentioned the Cutpurse. Smart.
Wyatt and Rufus being trapped in that serial killer’s hotel was scary and the fact that they were trapped in their with him was even scarier. Not once did I suspect that “George” was the killer so I didn’t see that twist coming.
Anyone have any idea who that female architect was supposed to be? I was waiting for them to say her name throughout the episode so I was a little disappointed we didn’t learn her name. Is she someone famous? No one is coming to mind right now, but then again I’m not a historian.
I did a mental “yay” when Rufus recorded that “Go fuck yourself” message to Rittenhouse dude on the recorder.
Not too fond of the show pushing Lucy and Wyatt as a couple. Please, let’s not go there. Why destroy such a great team dynamic with the three of them by pairing up the two white characters together? Meh.
So what is Wyatt going to do now that he knows who killed his wife? And how do we know Flynn’s info is legit? Is he just going to take Flynn’s word for it?
