“So we’re going to bake our way out?”

Episode Title: And the Fatal Separation
Original Air Date: January 15, 2017
Episode Number: 3×09

Episode Description
When the Monkey King’s sacred homeland of Shangri-La is taken over by a ruthless collector of magical artifacts, the balance of the Universe is put in jeopardy, forcing all the Librarians to come together to help save the imperiled land… at what could be a terrible cost.

My review

Why do I get the feeling that Vanessa Williams’ character (love that she’s a General and was Eve’s mentor) was messing with Eve’s mind when she told her that she’s a sleeper agent? I don’t buy it and I don’t trust the General at all. She’s the type of person who will say anything to get DOSA ahead.

So sad to see Charlene go and making such a huge sacrifice in order to save the Library and the world. It was pretty touching seeing her bid farewell to Jenkins (I had a feeling she was the great love that he was talking about in the previous episode) and then to Flynn. I wonder what she whispered to Eve while saying goodbye to her. Eve looked downright shocked and worried.

Jake now has magical runes on his arm? I wonder how that will help him and the team in the future. I feel kinda bad for him for not wanting anything to do with magic, but in his line of work, it’s unavoidable.

Really liked the scene with Cassandra and Eve in the beginning where Eve said that she doesn’t know how to help Cassandra unlike Ezekiel and Jake. It was a sweet moment.

Cassandra and Ezekiel dressed up and posing as pirates was my favorite part of the episode especially when Lam started badmouthing and praising Ezekiel while Ezekiel’s behind them making faces. It was HILARIOUS. His reaction (and Cassandra’s) when Lam said that he’s the smartest Librarian was priceless. This line from Cassandra made me laugh also: “He was struck by lightning as a child and his fillings fused his jaw shut.”

The candle room was pretty cool. Not looking too good for Flynn with his candle almost finished. I liked Ezekiel’s red candle. Wish we could have seen Jake and Cassandra’s candles too.

One more episode before this season is over. It has been a great one and I hope the team comes out unscathed and alive.
